Characters:

Elena- the nice girl that always got treated badly, because she’s always too nice. Not the most attractive girl. Very nerdy and always strives for the best.
Melody- Elena co-worker/friend who is very lazy yet beautiful.
Nicolas- Elena’s biggest rival at work. Such a jerk, super arrogant, thinks he can own this world.
Kenji- Elena’s co-worker who helped builds her self-esteem as the play go on.

[short summary:] - so you know where I’m going with this story

Elena’s on a regular path to work, got into the elevator and was running late for work. Because she’s always an early bird and running 5-10 minutes late is not a good thing for her at all. So got on the elevator greets with Nicolas and Melody had their hate love argument as Melody states. Then got to work and Melody tell hers to finish up her works that she didn’t do the night before, for the staff meeting that day. Elena always too nice couldn’t say no to hurt her feelings so she decided to take on the role. Kenji helped her this day to stick up for herself and not let other punk her around like she is just some crazy fool living.

ELENA
[rush crazily into the elevator door]

NICOLAS
What!? Running late again PUNK A**!

ELENA
Yes, what can you say I’m a girl I need to dress to impress.

NICOLAS
Oh! Please Elena I would never look a some punk like you and ever think you look HOT. You have to try much harder if you want to achieve that look miss.

ELENA
[takes out her planner to look at what her schedule is like for the day ahead of her]
Nicolas you know what-

NICOLAS
[looks at Elena with a grin]

ELENA
Yea you’re a jerk! What else can you be? You disgust me Nicolas…

[The elevators door open as Melody walks in.]

MELODY
Good Morning Elena, you look adorable today; ready for today’s task of jobs to do?

ELENA
Today’s been such a bad day, I got up late and now I just gone through a very aggressive conversation with someone (I’M NOT POINTING ANY FINGERS).

NICOLAS
What you talkin about me ey? Elena huh? (groans deeply)

ELENA
Hey I didn’t mention your name at all, why you assuming things.(*sighs)

MELODY
Okay, you two quite this childish play okay! Why are you guys always constantly nagging at each other.

ELENA
[starts to blush and get nervous and started to stuttered]

[The elevators open and each person walks to sit at their own little cubicle preparing to get ready to go to the staff meeting.]

MELODY
[walks up to Elena’s cubicle giving her the monthly report to give at the meeting with the rest of the staffs.]
Here Elena, this is the monthly report of our spending, will you please present this at the meeting for me?

ELENA
But-

MELODY
Thank you for much Elena I knew you would do it for me.

NICOLAS
[starts walking towards Elena and approaches Melody asking her if she wanted to go grab coffee.]
Melody would you care to grab some caribou with me before the meeting?


MELODY
I would love to Nicolas how thoughtful of you to invite me to grab some. That’s a good idea to so we can have mind thinking skills when we get into today’s meeting.
Oh! Elena would you please bring me the files at my desk to the meeting as well, Thank you so much you’re a true wonder wall for me.

ELENA
[so tensed up, very fired about to yell at Melody; STAND UP, clinches her fist.]
Yes I’ll see you at the meeting with the monthly report and your paper works on your desk. Enjoy getting caribou.

[Melody and Nicolas starts heading towards the elevator.]

ELENA
(*sigh) Why does Melody always take advantage of me and tell me to do all her dirty little work. I can never say, “NO” to her at all too. Is this what I get for being too nice? OMG, this is horrible I wonder when will I be able to get done with all these paper work in time for the meeting.

[bangs her head on the desk and cries and yell]

[As Elena gets to work Nicolas best friend Kenji walks by…]

KENJI
Good morning Elena! I was wondering have you seen Nicolas at all?

ELENA
[with an ugly grin on her face]
Morning Kenji (*heavy sigh), Nicolas died on the elevator ride this morning to the office so I threw him out on 3rd floor.

KENJI
[puzzled look]

ELENA
I’m just kidding he went and grabbed some coffee at caribou with Miss. Melody
[gives off an attitude face while saying Miss. Melody]

KENJI
[smiles at Elena]
I see well do you want to grab lunch after this staff meeting here? Huh, Elena?

ELENA
[surprise look]
YOU MUST BE INSANE JERK! I HAVE SO MUCH CRAP TO DO HERE, HOW CAN I POSSIBLY GO GRAB LUNCH. I HAVE MY OWN WORK TO ACCOMPLISH ALONG WITH MISS. MELODY’S PAPER WORKS TO DO I CAN NOT GRAB LUNCH WITH YOU.
[groans and sigh heavily]

KENJI
[started to feel down and looked rejected.]

ELENA
Fine I’ll try to see what I can do!

KENJI
Alrite, I’ll give you a call okay.
[takes out the cell phone to jot down Elena number]

[Kenji left to go to grab paper works from the printer and left to the meeting.]

ELENA
Why me? I have so much work to do, what am I gonna do please help….
[Elena got up and started towards Melody’s cubicle to grab the paper works, so she can look it over before the meeting to make sure there’s nothing wrong with it.]

ELENA
Melody… oh my Melody… Look she is so messy; for a well dressed and pretty girl you sure are a pig when it comes to cleanliness.

[Melody and Nicolas walking into the room after buying their caribou coffees.]

MELODY
Elllllllennnnaaaaaaaaaaaaa…. Are you finish with the monthly report?

ELENA
[grins while standing up from Melody’s cubicle]
I’m working on it don’t worry Melody… It will be done by time we get going to the meeting in about 45 minutes.

NICOLAS
Why would you have Elena slow a** do this job for you, I think this girl is struggling already!

ELENA
[yelling]
Nicolas just leave me alone you JERK FACE. What is your problem with everything I do!?
[Elena runs out to the front of the building. She sits and cries as Kenji walks by from getting some errands done.]

KENJI
Elena are you okay?

ELENA
[wipes her tears quickly and turns toward Kenji.]
Hi Kenji, yes I’m okay don’t worry about it.

KENJI
Are you….

ELENA
Boy don’t worry I’m good, gotta run now! I have lots to finish!


KENJI
[grasp….]
I guess so…

[Kenji runs to grab Elena’s arm.]

KENJI
Elena I can’t stand seeing you like this stop being so nice and doing everyone’s crappy work. They all came to work here to you know why are you so STUPID and doing everything for everyone. Even when you have a s*** load of things on your own hands to deal with and get done so with.

ELENA
[turns around and tears starts to come out of her eyes.]
Kenji I can’t resist to hurt anyone’s feelings! Don’t you understand.

KENJI
[spoke with ANGER]
Of course no one wants to hurt anyone’s feeling period. But look at how you’re being treated if someone else can hurt your feeling I’m pretty sure that at times it’s alrite to just say, “NO!”
